Filters for Families
"Mountain Movers help replenish my Spirit when it is too tired to go on - I urge you to support their caring program to the many small Christian NGO's working in developing countries."Linda Smith, PhD Filters for Families
The Problem
10-year old girl suffering from arsenic poisoning
Long-term exposure to arsenic via drinking-water causes cancer of the skin, lungs, urinary bladder, and kidney, as well as other skin changes such as pigmentation changes and thickening (hyperkeratosis).
The Solution
Mountain Mover Linda Smith, PhD, directs the only sustainable filter program that removes arsenic from the drinking water. Filtering decreases the Arsenic concentration from 700 ppm to < 10 ppm.
She has recently joined forces with Dr. A. K. M. Munir, a Bangladesh Physician, to manufacture and distribute his superior-design filter. He has transferred exclusive rights to MMI for applying his filter in Nepal.
No matter where we go or what we do, we always offer more than physical help, we share the love of Christ. Providing a basic need, safe drinking water, opens doors to share the Gospel

"Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life..." (John 4:13-14)
Another New Mission Beginning to Find Success

Daycares in Mustang Region The Mustang region of Nepal is in the part of the country near the Himalayan Mountain Range, bordering Tibet. This region has virtually no churches, not even house churches, however, one ministry is finally beginning to bear fruit through daycares.

A few daycares have been started in the region followed by small house churches. Now, the ministry is starting to expand even further, adding a new college ministry, in which recently converted college students are being discipled alongside the Jesus film. Please remember this ministry, along with all of our other ministries, in your prayers as they continue to grow and bear fruit.
